If you’re interested in joining YWAM as staff, doing a DTS is a prerequisite. In order to build a stable and consistent team at YWAM York, we ask that staff commit to a minimum of 2 years. Being a part of anything worthwhile takes time, and with adjusting to the English culture, getting orientated to York itself, making friends, and having the time to gain trust to really make an impact, 2 years in reality is just the starting point. In fact, if God is speaking to you about joining staff we would challenge you to think about coming with the idea that God may be calling you for longer than 2 years and if you come for only 2 year you might miss something God is wanting to do in your life.

We have a heart to see staff developed into project leaders, DTS leaders, and even seeing teams developed and started on other parts of Europe. If this is your calling, it will take time to develop, however, it will be worth it.

All YWAM Staff are volunteers, from the leaders of YWAM to the newest member of staff. It is part of our value that we raise up relationship based support as we serve with YWAM. We ask all staff to come with adequate finances to cover their living costs, ministry expenses and money for fun. Contact us for information about finances if you are interested in joining our staff team.

EU Citizen – No

Non EU Citizen – Yes, you will need a visa. If you’ve done your DTS with us, you will need a new visa. This is because we have cancelled your visa upon leaving England after your DTS.

There are two possible visas you can apply for during your time in York. However, until you have applied, the issue of visas are not important. When you have completed your staff application and been accepted as staff, we will send you all the information you will need to get your visa. As new staff we will ask you to be apart of the DTS. We recommend getting your staff application done 4/5 months before the DTS starts so that you have enough time for your visa to be processed.

YWAM is called to a relationship-based support system depending upon God and His people for financial provision, both corporately and individually. We believe that relationship-based support promotes responsibility, accountability, communication and mutual prayer. It involves the donor as a partner in ministry. As God and others have been generous toward us, so we desire to be generous. Having both prayer & financial support in place is important because we were never meant to do this on our own. Being well supported keeps us connected and encouraged, even in the tough times. The DTS and staff have come up with very innovative ways of raising support. There is no one “right” way.

Please email to whoever is working through your application and we would love to set up a Skype/Facetime call so that we can talk you though the process of raising support.
